Dane Steele GreenAs the youngest of 3, Dane always had a spark for commercial aviation and travel. By the time Dane was 12 years old, he was assisting in the travel planning and coordination for his father's international fine jewelry company. As technology improved and developed, so did Dane's entrepreneurial skills. Dane began making "chump change" when he was 13. His focus was to tear out and mount "Got Milk?" advertisements and pop star images from various magazines and open up shop on eBay.

 

The next step was when Dane arranged for his family to vacation in Italy at 15 years old. After shopping his way through Italy, Dane realized he spent all of his profits on designer goods from Italy. So, back on eBay the items went! Dane realized the profit margin coming in from the sale of these luxury items were immense. After some research and Italian language absorption, Dane found himself skipping out of school for long weekends to travel to Italy every 3 weeks to purchase wholesale items; using the Italian Lira against the strong US dollar as his discount for purchasing goods. The Business went on for 2 years until the Euro was introduced, which leveled out the market.

 

Dane was hungry for more. With the addition of learning French, Spanish, and Hebrew, Dane went on to further educate himself about international business and communication. While studying at New York University, Dane held various positions at PR firms, technology companies, and Airlines. Dane landed a marketing internship at Alitalia Airline's New York headquarters. From there, Dane was selected from thousands of applicants as one of jetBlue's summer marketing interns. On the day of graduation, Alitalia called Dane back and offered him a marketing position. For the next 2 years, Dane brought innovation, revival, and spice to Alitalia's US marketing initiatives.

 

While at Alitalia, Dane gained a wealth of knowledge about the travel industry. He was responsible for advertising, promotions, as well as entertaining and facilitating groups of travel agents and clients on 5-day jaunts to Italy. Through his experience and travel education, Dane realized that there was an undiscovered niche in the market: luxury LGBT travel and tour operations. While his time at Alitalia, on December 17, 2007, Dane launched Steele Luxury Travel; providing the LGBT community with exclusive, unique and top rate travel experiences to exotic destinations worldwide. Destinations include The South African Experience, The Life Ball in Vienna - Europe's most extravagant AIDS and HIV benefit, Milk and Honey & Israel and Tel Aviv Pride, Madrid Gay Pride and their popular Mykonos Island Villa Escape. Steele Luxury Travel has grown exponentially over the past few years with plans on further expanding to offer more destinations, services, and travel convenience to not only the LGBT community. Steele works with numerous corporations and individuals in offering corporate travel planning, incentive travel as well as personal travel assistance. As Dane lives and breathes his entrepreneurial career, his goal is for each of his Steele Travelers to enjoy the world they live in every way possible.
