Day 4 // Luxury Phuket Hotel Hop

January 3, 2013

Today, we woke up disoriented after last night’s festivities. An interesting night, to say the least and the most. We became fast friends with the owner of Boat Bar and became friendly with all of the waiters on that street of bars. Today, our plan was to hop around the island and visit some of Phuket’s best resorts. As the luxury properties are located away from the mess of Patong Beach, we had a 45-minute drive to our first resort. Our first stop was Andara, which was our favorite....

Follow us in THAILAND ~ Day 3 – Island Hopping

January 3, 2013

Today, after a beautiful 10 hours of sleep, we had pre-booked a speedboat island hopping excursion. Unfortunately, I neglected to charge my iPhone, so there we have no photos 🙁 After a delicious breakfast spread featuring everything from waffles to dim sum, we were picked up at 8 am to head toward the Phuket Marina. After the typical tourist check in, we received our flippers, goggles and boarded our speed boat with about 20 other travelers from Korea, Argentina, and Australia. Our itinerary...

Follow us in THAILAND DAY 2 // Arrival and Hotel Blunder

December 28, 2012

The flight over to Asia was easier than a connecting flight from LAX to Europe. No Lie. We arrived in Phuket thrilled to be in the heat and humidity. Our bags were some of the first bags to come out the rickety conveyer belt at HKT airport. We strolled through customs and found a sweet man from the Pavilions Phuket resort holding a sign with our names on it. We walked outside and quickly lit a cigarette. The beautiful car pulled up with tinted windows and our bags were quickly packed into...

December 27, 2012

After taking a quick Christmas Day evening flight from Buffalo, NY to JFK, we hopped on the AirTrain one stop to Terminal #7. Thrilled with excitement, Joshy and I checked into our flight at the First Class counter, which is located in a separate area. Our boarding passes all the way through to Phuket and lounge invitations printed. We were then escorted through a private security entrance and found our way to the British Airways First Class Terrace Lounge, which is shared with Cathay Pacific...

Hotel Bel-Air Is Restored and Reopened // www.SteeleTravelBlog.com

December 20, 2012
Nowhere in the annals of style does it say that luxury décor has to be all ice-cold chrome, blond wood and right angles that are so sharp you can shave with the dresser. There’s something to be said for lusciousness.

I recently stayed at a real icon in the hotel biz, the fabled Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Serving up sumptuousness since 1946, the Bel-Air briefly blipped off the radar for a two-year refurb. In the day, the property was...

December 10, 2012

Delta Air Lines has finalized an agreement with Bombardier Aerospace that will allow the airline to continue restructuring its domestic fleet by replacing less efficient single-class 50-seat aircraft with new two-class 76-seat aircraft. As part of the agreement, Delta will acquire 40 new CRJ900 two-class regional jets, with the option to purchase an additional 30 CRJ900 aircraft, and Bombardier will assist Delta in phasing out 60 single-class CRJ200 aircraft.

The addition of the CRJ900...
