United Airlines to Launch Daily Newark-Santo Domingo Flight

One of the Caribbean’s leading destinations will receive increased air service beginning this summer. 

United Airlines will operate flights between Newark Liberty International Airport and Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic beginning this summer, subject to government approval. The daily service will utilize Boeing 737-900 aircraft and depart Newark at 9:00 a.m. and arriving in Santiago at 12:55 p.m. Return flights will depart Santiago at 1:50 p.m. and arrive at Newark at 5:55 p.m. 

United also offers daily flights from Newark to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, along with seasonal flights from Chicago and Washington, D.C. to Punta Cana. Dominican Republic tourist arrivals increased three percent in 2013 to more than 3.7 million travelers and the country’s tourism minister recently predicted a fifth straight year of increased arrivals in 2014.
